Physicians

ONE Network Access is a secure, private network which acts like an Internet for health care providers, allowing the transfer of data and access to information. ONE Network Access is independent from government and public networks; access is restricted to approved users. Physicians use it to:

• Obtain high-speed Internet access with no monthly fees
• Access OntarioMD.ca and ONE Mail
• Gain remote access to their office from their home or another office
• Connect to their local hospital (if applicable)
• Access their Clinical Management System (CMS) when multiple offices are sharing one CMS from a central location
• Provide a future foundation for connecting to other applications and e-Health initiatives as they become available such as accessing lab results electronically, accessing the Drug Profile Viewer from the Ontario Drug Benefit Program, Health Cards Validation and Electronic Data Transfer

ONE Mail is a secure, reliable and confidential e-mail service offered to physicians who register with OntarioMD.ca. Physicians can use it to:

• Refer or receive referrals
• Provide other physicians with information about a patient’s condition
• Consult conveniently
• Replace phoning, faxes, and courier to send personal health information to other physicians.
